Rev. Rita has been the Associate Pastor at Matthews Memorial since June 2017 and actively works in many of our ministries including Project Transformation and our senior adult ministry. Rev. Rita received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercer University, Master of Religious Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Doctor of Ministry from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She also completed additional graduate work at United Theological Seminary and Scarritt Graduate College. Prior to coming to Matthews Memorial, Rev. Rita served at churches in Bowling Green, KY, Franklin and Goodlettsville, TN.
As an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church, she strives to help individuals find ways to bridge the gap between the church and the world. Throughout her ministry she has advocated for the vital role of children in the life of the church.
She has authored seven books and continues to write for the United Methodist Church. She also serves as a volunteer chaplain at Skyline Hospital.
Rev. Rita is married to Bill, and they reside in Goodlettsville. They have two adult sons, Allen and Benjamin, and one grandson William.
